The speed and need for change is becoming more apparent for teams and companies around the world, regardless of industry or context. We all need to adapt quicker, improve customer satisfaction, and release new features or products more often.
It is Easy to Forget the People
Change is often simplified down to:
- we have this current process,
- now we need to adopt this new process
Unfortunately, change is never, and I do mean never, that easy. It requires so much more. The most common element missing in any big change is the people. Why is that? Because we make it about the process — that is the change. At least, that is what we tell ourselves and how we justify the plan to just implement change on our teams and staff. This is no different in an agile adoption or transformation attempt.
Why Doesn’t Process Change Work Without the People?
Well, change is hard. And those that are effected the most are the ones who are currently following the “old way”. They need support, an active and compassionate ear to listen to their needs and challenges, and guidance and leadership from those that have kindly and masterfully helped others with big change.
Get Transformation Support from an Experience Coach
One of the most powerful ways to make a big change more manageable is to bring in an effective and experienced coach. This coach needs to be a kind, considerate, patient, and effective — to be a partner in the change.
